The breeding standard at Dreamcatcher Meadows is very clear.   We produce Hanoverian and Hanoverian/Thoroughbred cross horses that are gifted athletes with an emphasis on kindness and trainability. Homebred pedigrees are examined for gymnastic ability, beauty and correct conformation, but both sire and dam must have a very high score (typically 9 or 10) for rideability to qualify for producing our offspring. All too often we see stunning animals for sale with extravagant paces, yet they are only suitable for a top professional to ride. The philosophy at Dreamcatcher Meadows is to produce a rider’s “best friend” that will result in a happy partnership both on and off the saddle – safe for an amateur but talented enough for top level competition if that is the rider’s goal. Foals that meet our strict criteria are registered with the suffix “DMV”.

Temperament and rideability are a breeding priority at Dreamcatcher Meadows
