The breeding standard at Dreamcatcher Meadows is very clear. We produce Hanoverian and Hanoverian/Thoroughbred cross horses that are gifted athletes with an emphasis on kindness and trainability. Homebred pedigrees are examined for gymnastic ability, beauty and correct conformation, but both sire and dam must have a very high score (typically 9 or 10) for rideability to qualify for producing our offspring. All too often we see stunning animals for sale with extravagant paces, yet they are only suitable for a top professional to ride. The philosophy at Dreamcatcher Meadows is to produce a rider’s “best friend” that will result in a happy partnership both on and off the saddle – safe for an amateur but talented enough for top level competition if that is the rider’s goal. Foals that meet our strict criteria are registered with the suffix “DMV”.

At Dreamcatcher Meadows we are dedicated to ensuring that horses we offer for sale are matched with the ideal owner. Frequently we include in the sales contract price a period of time that includes the training of horse and new rider under our supervision. It is our passion and mandate to responsibly breed the best horses possible, but it is equally important to us that we hand them over to owners that have the training, temperament and resources to result in a happy, successful partnership.

Youngstock are in a handling and training program from birth; even our weanlingh have a good basis in proper manners and human interaction. Most are shown in breed shows, debuting as yearlings, thus providing a background that includes experience in all matters associated with competition (loading, trailering, bathing, braiding, etc.)

Our youngstock show record and breed society inspection results are proof that the industry’s respected top judges agree our breeding standards are first class. We are proud to have won many sport and breed classes in Canada, the United States and England.
