Numerous post and rail paddocks are the daytime quarters for equine groups and

individuals: mothers and newborns, youngsters in appropriate age groups, the “Girls’ Club” of
rescued mares, specialized stallion paddocks, children’s pony groups, and areas for retired and
competition horses. Adjacent is our outdoor dressage arena bordered by the stunning Lilloet River
with five-star views. Just beyond the arena is a winding path leading to three hours of sandy riding
trails on Crown land with unparallel vistas. A separate field encircled by a gallop track will house the
second outdoor arena and cross country jumps,

 

Indoors. The largest barn is divided into two wings: the first is the “Riding Barn”, accommodating
customer and personal ridden and competition horses, tack room, wash boxes, feed room and
grooming areas; the second “breeding” barn houses large foaling boxes (or rest boxes) with
automatic waterers, grooming areas, custom made stocks, phantom for semen collection and
laboratory equipped with breeding essentials.

Our manure management is environmentally sound: composting and spreading on the fields. The
Equimat Stall Mats dramatically reduce shavings, pellets, etc. and with no waste; bedding is simply
used to absorb urine. Furthermore, these stall mats are a therapeutic bed for the horses. The
Equimat Supersoft stall mats in the large foaling boxes provide the newborn with a soft but secure
footing as they learn to stand and manage their fragile limbs. In addition to stall mats, Equimat wall
mats provide cushioning and soft but firm support to mare and foal during foaling and the early

The custom designed oval indoor “Backing Arena” designed by John Dingle provides a bright, secure-
feeling area that is ideal for introducing youngsters and beginner riders to lunging and first rides. Its
compact size and circular shape encourage forward movement with high timber walls, eliminating
distractions. Standard thickness Equimat stall mats are under the entire arena surface, creating a
firm yet springy base. Advanced riders enjoy the benefit of this structure as well, for lessons on a
lunge line that concentrate on seat position and aid accuracy.

 

The main Indoor Arena is a large, bright Coverall structure. The entire far side sports a continuous
run of large mirrors, providing riders and instructors with immediate feedback. They provide the
significant benefit of letting riders see their entire reflected movements continuously from one side
of the arena to the other. Attractive wooden safety sides outline the riding surface; electric lights
and a sound system are additional features. A large viewing gallery offers comfort for spectators
and guests with heat in the winter. Daily attention to surface conditions with irrigation and
grooming further ensure riders can enjoy their sessions at all times of the day and year.
